La Festa di San Giovanni Battista Ogni 29 agosto Il borgo di Granieri celebra la festa del suo patrono, San Giovanni Battista, il 29 agosto. La festa si celebrava sin dai primi anni ’50,quando ancora l’omonima Chiesa non esisteva, ma col passare degli anni ha assunto un ruolo fondamentale per gli abitanti della frazione, divenendone il simbolo attorno a cui si riconosce lacomunità. La processione del fercolo e della statua del Santo, alla quale partecipa insieme alle autorità amministrative e religiose anche il corteo del Senato Civico di Caltagirone, si svolge per le vie della frazione, passando anche per il suggestivo cortile della masseria Silvestri, in cui, per l`occasione, viene aperta la piccola cappella in cui venivano celebrate le funzioni religiose fino al 1956. San Giovanni Battista’s Day The village of Granieri celebrates San Giovanni Battista’s Day on August, 29th. The celebration has been done since 1950, even if thenamesake Church did not existed , but in the years the Church hasassumed a fundamental role for the in habitants of the village, becoming the symbol which the community identifies in. The procession of the palanquin and the statue of the Saint goes through the streetsof the village, crossing the striking hall of the Silvestri manor farm where, for the occasion, the little chapel where there werecelebrated the religion function since 1956 is opened. The administrative and religious authorities and the Senato Civico of Caltagirone are involved in the procession.
